Mission of the event:
Connect Minnesotans to Resources: Provide a space where all Minnesotans can access relevant resources that support recovery from mental illnesses and the promotion of good mental health practices.
Celebrate Authenticity & Recovery: Create an environment where people feel comfortable sharing their personal recovery stories and experiences, and where the community can come together to support one another.
Education and Awareness: Raise awareness of the importance of mental health, share available resources, and educate Minnesotans on both symptoms and tools for recovery.
Our vision and beliefs:
The Mental Health Awareness at the Minnesota State Fair event committee believes that mental health is for everyone and that we heal in community. This event is a celebration of mental health and recovery—bringing people together to share hope, find resources to support their own mental health journey, and to connect with a community that cares.
At our core we believe in belonging for all, including LGBTQIA+ individuals, rural communities, immigrants, and people of all races, ethnicities, and political viewpoints. Mental health affects us all, and together, we create an event where everyone can feel seen and valued.
What makes this event special is the people — the volunteers, staff, and visitors who come together to share stories, build connections, and spread hope. We are committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment where everyone has access to relevant resources, understanding, and encouragement.
We stand against discrimination, exclusion, and all forms of hate and bigotry.
We stand for inclusion, respect, and the belief that mental health support should be available to all. There is a place for you here.
